Some great ideas start in a boardroom. Ours started after a few drinks and one question: where do you find a genuinely good gift for a bloke?
One slightly crazy idea later, Triple M Gifts & Leather was born. Three years on, the shop has grown into something we couldn't have planned if we'd tried—and, as you'll see, one of us definitely tried.
HOW WE GOT HERE
A few drinks in, we were talking about how hard it can be to find a gift for a bloke that isn't another panic-bought pair of socks. Somewhere between “someone should fix that” and “we could fix that”, the gift shop idea appeared. Somehow, it still sounded good the next morning. Mick has been hunting down useful, unusual and rugged gifts ever since.
Mel was going to have one small table for her colourful finds. That table gained a few neighbours, then a corner, and now an entire shop within the shop. Three years on, she's thoroughly locked in. We no longer ask how much space “one small table” needs; we just make room for the next great find.
Murphy's job title is store security. Most shifts, you'll find him sound asleep. But rustle a treat packet from 100 metres away and his response time is extraordinary. It's a highly specialised security system, and he's very pleased with his performance.
